The scheduled appointment is reserved specifically for your child. If a cancellation is unavoidable, please call the office at least 24 hours in advance so that we can offer that time to another patient.
Late arrivals for appointments may result in the appointment being rescheduled. Missed or canceled appointments without 24-hour notice may result in a missed appointment fee being charged to your account. If one or more missed appointments occur, our office reserves the right to not schedule any subsequent appointments.
We strive to see all patients on time for their scheduled appointments. There are times when our schedule is delayed in order to accommodate an injured child in an emergency situation. Please accept our apology in advance should this occur during your child’s appointment.
Our office will submit insurance claims to most dental insurance plans as a courtesy. If you are unsure as to whether your dental insurance is accepted here, please call our office at 616-447-7900.
It is important that you are familiar with your insurance policy and bring the necessary insurance information or cards to your child’s appointment. If there is a change in your insurance coverage, notify our office immediately. Many claims are not paid in their entirety by the insurance company. Our office has no control over what your insurance company will cover. Ultimately, you are responsible for your account.
Please be aware that the parent/legal guardian bringing your child to our office is responsible for payment of services rendered that day. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa and Mastercard.
Because children are easily distracted, the initial visit is the only visit during which parents may accompany their child into the treatment area. Coming back alone with our experienced staff will give your child a sense of independence and self-confidence.
Dr. DeYoung and her staff will explain each procedure to your child on a level he or she can understand. Knowing what will happen helps your child feel more comfortable and allows him or her to relax during the visit. To the best of our ability, appointments are kept to 30 minutes. This is to stay within the average child’s attention span. These policies help make coming to the dentist a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
